Bom.K opens his first London solo show at Moniker Art Fair 2015

His work is dark, aggressive, strange and yet totally fascinating. He is one of those artists that I would love to spend a late night in a whiskey bar with to pick his brain and try to understand where his crazy visions come from. I love his work, his skills with a pencil and a piece of paper never disappoint. His paintings, always primarily black in colour are so unique in subject that you can't help but just get involved, often making me say out loud, 'Ha...that's so clever.'

So with that, you can imagine how totally over the moon I am to be managing his first London solo show for MYA Gallery. The exhibition, L'impr√©visible Imaginaire opens on Thursday the 15th of October at London's Truman Brewery as part of the Moniker Art Fair 2015.  Now in it’s sixth year Moniker Art Fair has earned a reputation as of one of most exciting contemporary art fairs with its roots embedded in urban culture, a perfect setting to present Bom.K to the UK market for the first time.

Bom.K's new collection of paintings and over 25+ sketches is a mix-matched selection of various subjects he has been working with as an artist. He presents to the London market a collection of paintings that offer a preview look at themes he will be working with in the coming year.

Born in Paris in the 7O’s, Bom.K discovered graffiti during his youth and went on to create the Da Mental Vaporz in 1999 with Iso and Kan. One monumental wall after the other, the crew continuously kept pushing the aesthetical boundaries of graffiti, developing groundbreaking themes for the times, such as madness, life in the peripheral suburbs, social exclusion, fear and hate.

Since 2005, Bom.K has developed his style in the comfort of his studio, with the same aesthetical insanity and ambition than his exterior works. After previous sold out exhibitions in France and the United States, Bom.K will, for the first time, present a collection of paintings and sketches for the London market. The exhibition, L'imprevisible Imaginaire, includes a powerful look into the various stubjects Bom.K wishes to experiment with as an artist and offers viewers a look into the mysteries behind his unique vision.
